This is Machete...like the knife. He won't tell me his real name.
He lives under the I-10 and Lathrop bridge. He used to live in a house in the neighborhood before the city demolished it due to disrepair.
Machete spends his days rummaging through dumpsters, doing odd jobs, and collecting rubbish. His subsists primarily of two forty-ounce bottles of King Cobra malt liquor a day-- one in the morning, one at night. Once in a while, we give him leftovers from the refrigerator.
One morning, we found a fat hen strolling around the parking lot of our office. The only person who knew how to catch her was Machete. A few days later, I asked him about the fate of the bird. "I ate her," he told me. But according to the accounts of others, he sold it to a lady in the neighborhood who raises chickens.
The Fridge
Yeah, that's the food part of a college student's life - lots of meat, very little veggies and plenty of milk and juice (we really like our breakfasts).
I like the lower shelf a lot at the moment - cheese, sausages, bacon and chicken. Mmmmm.
I've labeled most of the food now. Just in case someone is curious!
